About this wine
95% Marsanne and 5% Roussanne from a 2-hectare site with granite soil, mid to top of slope. The yield is 40 hl/ha. The grapes are handpicked and the wine spends ten months in up to three-year old oak barrels.
Our tasting impressions
A beguiling and assertive nose. This is bold but not over the top. The fruit is rich and sweet. It’s ripe but in balance. A fine opportunity to experience Corentin’s winemaking artistry - what do you do when a vintage offers too much ripe fruit? You allow the characteristics of the vintage to have their say but with restraint.
On your table
Rich shellfish with a creamy sauce. For a more exotic, but risky play, try a mildly spiced curry dish. Enjoy over the next 5 years.

The Pichon family is a growing force in the Northern Rhône region. Christophe and Isabelle continue to steer the 18 hectare Domaine, but their sons, the third generation - Corentin, the principal winemaker and Alexis, who focuses on sales and marketing - are making their mark.
Based in Chavanay, the Pichons produce wines of elegance and finesse in a variety of appellations. Chemical treatment of the mostly Syrah and Viognier vineyards is kept to a bare minimum.
Their wines have long garnered excellent reviews from the leading Rhône region critics such as Jeb Dunnuck, Josh Raynolds (Vinous), Robert Parker and John Livingstone-Learmonth (Drink Rhône).
The joy of this family of eight is evident in their wines. VDLT has been visiting the Pichons for many years and is proud to include them as a foundation of the portfolio. Last year, Alexis visited New York for the first time for a VDLT tasting event. We enjoyed introducing to some of NYC’s finest, as well as bringing him to tour one of the best wineries on Long Island.
